Tivo Tips

So we stray from a website tip this time, and go into the world of Tivo. Tivo is by far the best Digital Video Recorder (DVR) out there right now. With the home media options, and streaming music, photos and more from your local desktop or the internet. What more could you ask for.

All for around 150 dollars, and a small service fee each month. You can't build your own for that much, and the one from your local cable company will charge you per month anyway.

I've recently setup our Tivo's at home, so we can download the programs from anywhere on the internet! Sure my connection is a tad slow at home, but start downloading something at night before bed, and when you wake up in the morning it should be finished. You can then watch it on your laptop, or transfer it to your "travel" tivo like we do.

Do do this you just need to configure your home router to forward ports 80 and 443 to the tivo box IP address. Then to get started type in /">https:/// and your all set.

Happy Tivoing.
